Youth Programs
HIRE LA
HIRE LA focuses on preparing young adults for the 21st Century workforce. It is designed to provide a starter job for youth ages ages 14-24. HIRE LA is funded by multiple sources and used to provide work experience, as well as work skills development, financial literacy, career coaching and mentoring, and career exposure. HIRE LA programming provides youth with the preparedness needed to enter the workforce and sets them on a path of becoming lifetime earners.
Angeleno Corps
Angeleno Corps provides a 10-month internship. This program seeks to reconnect participants into education through enrollment in a community college while providing meaningful work experience on one of six priority sectors. Health/Environmental Equity, Education/Youth Development, Digital Equity/Future Corps, Immigration/Dream Corps, Housing Rights Advocacy and Food Justice. #CaliforniansforAll
Student to Student
Student to Student program provides LAUSD High School, Alternative Ed, and Adult Education students with work experience by tutoring younger children within their household. The program seeks to offset educational loss experienced during the pandemic through increased educational supports. #CaliforniansforAll
LA:RISE Youth Academy
Invdividuals experiencing homelessness are provided 250 hours of transitional employment, wrap around services including housing and other social services. #CaliforniansforAll
LA Community College - City Pathways
This project consists of a 12-month internship program for LA-area LACCD students. Participants are placed in City Departments to explore career pathways within the City. Opportunities include recreation assistant, aquatics, maintenance, and office assistant positions through Recreation and Parks, animal welfare positions through Animal Services. Additional positions may include police and fire, engineering, information technology, planning and public policy, economic development, social service work. #CaliforniansforAll
City Pathways for Youth
The City Pathways for Youth Program provides young people an opportunity to intern with the Department of Recreation and Parks and learn about careers in Los Angeles City Government while working alongside recreation and maintenance professionals. This project is a 12-month, internship program for LA-area young people ages 16-30. #CaliforniansforAll
L.A. River Rangers
L.A. River Rangers will provide a 12-month, full-time employment opportunity. Angelenos will provide critical maintenance and operation services along the 32 miles of the LA River as a pathway to a full-time career in the City of LA. #CaliforniansforAll
Clean L.A.
"Clean L.A. is a 12-month, full-time employment program for job-seeking Angelenos who would like to help clean and green the City of Los Angeles as a pathway to a full-time career. #CaliforniansforAll"
Summer Night Lights
Summer Night Lights program hires young people ages 17-30 to coordinate activities at 10 City parks and recreation centers that stay open late to provide young people and families with safe, fun gathering spaces during the summer months. #CaliforniansforAll
Youth & Community Harvest Internship Program
This project is a 6-month work experience internships with Farmer's Markets and non-profit led urban farms and community gardens. Participants explore career pathways in urban farming, food nutrition, and reducing food waste. Participants also help design a marketing campaign and strategy to increase the use of CalFresh. #CaliforniansforAll
Early Childhood Education Student Advancement Project
This project is geared towards Los Angeles community college students in the child development (or closely related) field. Participants are provided with paid internship opportunities, one-on-one mentorship support, quarterly coaching sessions, and financial awards for those graduating. #CaliforniansforAll
Teen Parent Prosper Project
Participants from 3 LAUSD schools will be provided part-time subsidized employment opportunities and FamilySource Center support services. #CaliforniansforAll
L.A. Food Waste Prevention/Rescue Project
Participants in this opportunity work to prevent food destined for landfills from becoming waste and distribute the food to food bank organizations to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improving public health and the environment—particularly in disadvantaged and low-income communities. #CaliforniansforAll
L.A. Community Composting
Participants will maximize output of community gardens while they receive on-the-job training and work experience to develop community composting sites as part of the City's healthy soils strategy to support urban agriculture. #CaliforniansforAll
South L.A. Non-Profit Apprenticeship Program
Participants explore community change work while receiving coaching/mentoring to support their post-secondary and community impact goals. #CaliforniansforAll
